Girls on the Run of NOVA

Summary:

The mission of Girls on the Run of NOVA is to advocate and deliver physical activity-based, positive youth development programs (PA-PYD) for pre-adolescent and adolescent girls in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, Loudoun, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William. GOTR of NOVA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving more than 60,000 girls since 2000. GOTR NOVA works to engage the entire community to positively impact the health and well being of the girls of Northern Virginia, their families and communities, and the volunteer coaches who serve them.

How to Volunteer as a Junior Coach (16-18):

Become a volunteer junior coach in the fall and/or spring season at some of our elementary school team sites!

2. Click register, or email jtaylor@gotrnova.org, if the season has just started or ended.

How to Volunteer at our End of Season 5K:

Help with packet pick up, registration, course/cheer marshals, parking, the medal and water stations, and running buddy opportunities. GOTR is also happy to provide service hours for your help!

November 18, starting at 8:00am at Dulles Town Center

November 19, starting at 8:30am in Arlington (Location TBD)

What else can GOTR of NOVA volunteers do?

  • Substitute coaching: Work with a team of coaches to facilitate the Girls on the Run curriculum to program participants. Click here for more information.

  • Team Adelaide: Visit teams during practice times, getting feedback from the coaches on how to improve the program and support the teams. Click here for more information.
